SHOULD é um modal verb, ou seja, auxilia o verbo principal da frase.

Should é usado para dar ou pedir conselho ou opinião. (1) Também pode ser usado no sentido de indicar uma probabilidade ou expectativa. (2)

1. Exemplos:

- He shouldn't smoke. And he should stop drinking too.

- You should see the new Indiana Jones movie. It's great!

- People should worry more about global warming.

- What should I wear tonight?

- Should I call him?

2. Exemplos:

- Are you ready? The train should be here soon.

- This hat shouldn't cost more than $10.

- He should pass the exam.

Should pode ser traduzido como "deveria / deve".

✅ Estrutura frases afirmativas:

SUJEITO + SHOULD + VERBO + COMPLEMENTO.

Ex.: You should see a doctor.

❌ Estrutura frases negativas:

SUJEITO + SHOULD NOT + VERBO + COMPLEMENTO.

Ex.: You should not go without her.

OU: You shouldn't go without her.

* SHOULDN'T é a forma contraída de should not.
